Our latest microfinance loan via Kiva.org is our 68th, and is to Augustina’s Group: a group of women in Berekum, Ghana led by Augustina, a 39-year-old married mother of four children.
Augustina is currently the group leader of Joshua Trust Bank. For the past 3 years, Augustina has been a small trader who sells food items like cassava, plantains, cocoyam and bananas. She also engages farming as her second business to make extra income. She is excited to be taking the loan which she plans to invest into purchasing assorted food items to serve her customers.
She anticipates increasing her profit level and also expanding her market as well as hoping to mobilize more savings to buy a piece of land to start building a house to accommodate her family.
