Natural Flooring Products: The Benefits of Travertine Pavers (Infographic)

If it was good enough for the Romans to use to build the Colosseum, then Travertine – a 100% natural product that is formed when water passes through limestone, depositing calcium and releasing carbon dioxide – is definitely a design option that should be considered for both indoor and outdoor flooring.

Not only is it long lasting (as the very presence of the Colosseum clearly shows), but its porous nature makes it non-slip whilst also being heat resistant and easy to install yourself.  Having been used for thousands of years, there’s no reason to stop now.

I like the infographic that shows how the Romans would have never been wrong when they were building their monuments. As a matter of fact, although most of the ancient travertine has been reused in the Renaissance, the popes used it again, when it was time to create new fountains and new statues.
