Real estate isn’t an exact science by any means and this is especially true when it comes to what it is that makes someone choose to buy a home. Is it the carpet, paint colour or something else? A recent survey put this question to would-be buyers and location to local amenities was at the top of the list.
Depending on lifestyle local amenities could be anything from night clubs, parks, cinemas, schools or shopping malls. So what were the top 4?
At the top of the buyer “wish list” was public transport with 43% of respondents wanting the live close to bus or train routes. Coming in a close second with 30% of the vote was parks. Many people just couldn’t go past being near open spaces for themselves, their children or their pets.
When buying your next home it might be worth keeping proximity to amenities near the top of your list to give yourself the best chance of capitalizing on a great sale result if and/or when you decide to sell it.
