The Waterfront Swiss Chalet Fit for the 21st Century

by Marquette Turner

in Architecture, Design & Trends, Variety

Forget the cute Swiss chalets that you may have grown up seeing in the movies, such as “The Sound of Music”, as they are so last century.

K_M Architektur have designed this stunning family home in Unterterzen that overlooks Lake Walensee and the mountains of Churfürsten in Switzerland

The architects have maximized the use of natural materials so that the home nestles comfortably amongst the dramatic landscape, bold enough to matter but humble enough to not seek to steel mother nature’s limelight.

Completed in 2007, the lines are clean and elegant, in keeping with Swiss simplicity in general, and with floor-to-ceiling windows no element of the stunning vista is neglected. The magnificent view is equally enhanced by the seamless flow from indoors to outdoors thanks to the vast, expansive living areas.
