Print This Post
This year readers of Travel + Leisure magazine awarded the 2009 winner of the best hotel in Oceania as The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand.
Set on 6,000 acres near Matauri Bay, Northland affords spectacular 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean. Cape Brett and the offshore Cavalli Islands are part of the panorama which can be viewed from the verandas, lounge, card and dining rooms.
Several helicopter companies operate flights from Auckland to Kauri Cliffs. Travel direct to Kauri Cliffs is approximately 1 hour.
Kauri Cliffs Golf & Spa Resort has been ranked one of the “Best Overseas Boutique Property” and along with their sister property Cape Kidnappers is ranked one of the “Best Overseas Golf Resort” in the annual Gold List 2009 Awards published by Australian Luxury Travel & Style Magazine. Both of their Golf Courses are home to the PGA Kiwi Challenge Series.
The Lodge came 17th overall in the 2009 Travel + Leisure awards.

Once again you never cease to amaze me in the properties you find. I love this hotel, the location and it looks like it would provide total serenity.
Perhaps we could book in when we go to the Rugby World Cup in 2011?
