Only a few days before Carnival, the biggest street party in the world, which will take place on February 21st to 24th 2009, the Brazilian Rio de Janeiro and Salvador are finishing final preparations for hosting the event that unites millions of Brazilians and foreigners for a few exceptional days. The famous Carnival hot-spot is Rio de Janeiro.
Sambadromo Stadium, built exclusively for this purpose, provides for a spectacular event featuring fascinating presentations of reputable Samba Schools competing for the title of the year’s Samba Queen. This show becomes all the more thrilling by the enormous glittering costumes designed especially for this event, by the rhythm of the samba music, and the mirthful atmosphere amongst foreigners and Brazilians alike.
For four days, the Sambadromo Parade will be the center of life in Rio de Janeiro, complimented by numerous themed parties and balls, the most renowned of which takes place in the luxurious Copacabana Palace Hotel.
The Hotel has been an icon of Rio since 1923 and, located right on Copacabana Beach, and is the most glamorous place to see and be seen.
