Million Dollar Tree Houses

Design ingenuity doesn’t simply exist on terra firma.  There are some quite amazing, million dollar tree houses throughout the world.

The first instance we’ve been impressed with a tree house hotel.  “Harads”, designed by Swedish architects Tham & Videgard Hansson has a kitchen, living area, bedroom and terrace.  With its stunning mirrored surface, you can almost disappear – surely the vacation.

The second example is the world’s largest and most expensive, costing $7 million USD.   Set on the grounds of Alnwick Castle (used in the Harry Potter films), south of Edinburgh, Scotland, this 6,000-square-foot tree house caters for up to 120 people, whether it be as an entertainment, lecturing or restaurant environment.  Created by John Harris and his team at The TreeHouse Company, it is the largest of his many projects around the world, all of which are truly spectacular.
