Swine flu is now responsible for around 40% of all sick leave taken in New South Wales. Large and small businesses are being affected and it is estimated that 60% of all sick leave in the next month will be due to Swine Flu.
There are more than 80,000 confirmed cases in more than 121 countries with more than 350 deaths. Infections in New South Wales have more than doubled in the last fortnight to 1375 people and there have been 11 confirmed deaths throughout Australia. More than 5300 people have tested positive for Swine Flu nationally with this figure being only a fraction of the total number with the virus as not all patients are being tested for the illness.
Marquette Turner Luxury Homes recommends taking precautions where possible and we advise using face masks for open homes, auctions and other close contact situations. Fortunately the virus is mild in most cases however we urge anyone who has had a recent operation, the elderly, young or chronic sufferers to take extra care with monitoring their health.
