I was spending some time with my sister (who lives in Newcastle, Australia) only a couple of months ago and the family albums were brought out. I usually cringe when this happens because the stories are endless and being interested in hundreds of photographs that you have seen before is a tough ask.
I have never been a great photographer – I have relied on friends who take wonderful shots to make sure that I’m well covered and my wonderful friends never let me down. I’m becoming far less camera shy as time goes on – in fact I bought a camera in Paris in January 2009 at The Luxury Real Estate Conference. It came in very handy and I posted some of the photographs to my Facebook site.
When we started planning Marquette Turner Luxury Homes in 2006 I was still working really hard to learn the basics of computers and as of today we are powering through social networking strategies which are not only giving us new listings but sales tools to find prospective buyers.
We have been placing links next to our status updates on sites like Twitter, Facebook and Linked In as well as Ping.fm (which uploads status updates to all of your social network sites at once – saving loads of time and helping keep me sane). The difference in readership of our articles is enormous.
We are convinced that social networking is going to be one of the major business growth strategies in the future, given the impact it has already had. Only a few months ago I had no idea what social networking was – the world moves so quickly.
I have been forced to learn how to use computers which I avoided doing too much with for a really long time. At first it was terrifying (I’m not sure why I was so scared of it now) but I guess it’s the fear of the unknown. I’m pleased to say I can get through most of the day without asking Simon Turner to come to my aid – he has been very patient indeed, so thanks Simon!)
And lastly, if you haven’t already, we encourage you to connect with us!
