Amazing lighting by ingenious designers can have the effect of stimulating multiple emotions, as well as setting the tone for any room. From lamps to pendants, from one off installations from a global icon to minimalist designs for the kitchen or bedroom, we look at seven great examples from around the world.
When designers produce something that is not only stunning but also multi-purpose it is particularly enjoyable. The Glasshouse, for instance, is a Czech design that is not only a beautiful design but it also cleverly takes advantage of the heat a lamp produces that would otherwise be wasted by allowing for herbs to grow in its micro-climate.
The Peel by Yop of Japan is a stunningly simple but clever design that gives the effect of the corner of the wall peeling away to reveal light beneath.
