When spring finally rears its head after a chilling winter, the sun has the power to make people want to spend more of their time outdoors and what better way to do so with some gardening.
At this time of year observant real estate agents can clearly notice that families spend more and more time on viewing the gardens at the properties they inspect. So if you’re looking to sell your property, it’s important for your outdoor space to look as great as it can be.
So when you’re getting ready to sell you’re home (or at anytime of course) here are some tips we have come up with to help you make the most of your outdoor space.
1. Have a spring clean
The first step in gardening is to have a big spring clean, try and declutter as much unwanted scrap you may not want or use any more. For example if you have a broken lawnmower there’s no point in keeping it and creating mess, it’s a lot simpler to dispose of it. If your garden is full of junk, the best thing to do is to hire a skip and throw away anything else don’t need anymore.
2. Invest in plants
We think one of the best ways to add colour to your garden is to invest in some plants. Some of the top, easy to grown garden plants to have in your backyard are Sunflowers, Sweet Peas, Aquilegias and Nasturtiums. All these lavish plants are effortless to grow for kids and have delicious fragrances.
3. Hide the bins
Bins aren’t the most attractive thing to look at when in the garden but they are necessary! In order for them not to stand out is to hide them. You could put them in the shed, outhouse or even rear alley on viewing days. Or if that’s too much of a hassle than why not decorate your bin and make it look arty. Make a day of it and get the kids involved.
4. Garden furniture
Investing into garden furniture is a must! Where are your guests going to sit when doing that summer bbq? Don’t just buy any old plastic furniture set, it lacks elegance. Aluminium is an ideal material for outdoor furniture, it is strong, non-rusting, and retains its good looks through blistering sun.
You can even look into buying garden sofas; they are comfortable and stylish – perfect for lounging under the sun.
