“View from the Bridge”: The Real Estate Misinformation Continues

In the latest installment of luxury real estate agent Michael Marquette’s “View from the Bridge” he talks of media misinformation. Apparently, there are happy home buyers who had paid 5-10% above reserve price to ensure they received the First Home Owner’s Grant (FHOG) which ends on September 30, 2009. There was no discussion of the stupidity of buyers who had spent an additional $30,000 to $50,000 to purchase these homes in order to receive the $14,000 FHOG – I would gladly give someone a $14,000 payment if they gave me $30,000 or $50,000 extra in return.

The Most Expensive Cities in the World

Oslo, now the most expensive city in the world, has come out of the global financial crisis relatively unscathed, as have Zurich in Switzerland and Copenhagen in Denmark – the second and third place cities respectively. Real estate costs are barely dropping.

RECIPE: Mum’s Bread and Butter Pudding

A fabulous dessert for lovers of good ‘ol fashioned puddings. The marmalade adds that extra oomph!

Ingredients

3 Eggs
1½ Cups Milk (¾ Pint)
2 Tblsp Sugar
1 Cup Sultanas
2 Slices Buttered Bread with Marmalade
Olive Oil Spray or Butter
8” Deep Pie Baking Dish

Method
Heat oven to 180C. Grease pie baking dish with oil spray or butter.
